Job Description

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Product Owner (PO) to support the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Responsible for the prioritization and validation of the development software for the Infrastructure Services & Libraries (ISL) team.
• The position will include reviewing/understanding Systems Engineering concepts/designs/algorithms and providing guidance to the development team.
• The PO will support the team in the development of acceptance criteria for software updates and will be responsible for their verification.
• Will work with Program Management in setting priorities for the capabilities and defects for the team for each product increment and sprint.
• Responsible for technical briefings, demonstrations, and advisement to leadership. The product owner will report on status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in STEM.
• A minimum of seven (7) years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above.
• Knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
• Will have a good understanding of at least some of the following: ansible and/or other scripting languages; data logging and archiving best practices; weapon system component health and status reporting best practices; the DDS standard; C++ and Java code.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• The ability to “move out” and champion your ideas, architectures, designs, enthusiasm, independent critical thinking, and a team attitude are very important.
• Experience in JIRA/Confluence is a plus.
