Job Description

LHH is seeking a Benefits Analyst for a global organization located in Seattle, WA. This is a great opportunity for an experienced benefits professional with at least 3 years of experience administering employee benefit plans, particularly in unionized environments. The Benefits Analyst will be primarily responsible for processing and reconciling benefit plan invoices, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and maintaining accurate coordination with payroll, accounting, and external vendors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage monthly billing processes for all employee benefit plans ensuring accuracy of coverage and premium calculations
  • Cross-check enrollment data with payroll and benefit reports to verify eligibility
  • Reconcile monthly invoices using internal systems and external vendor data to ensure alignment with contract and CBA terms
  • Set up and maintain employee benefit deductions and accruals
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers and union trust funds to resolve discrepancies, address overdue invoices, and process adjustments as necessary
  • Prepare and submit timely reports and payments to union health and welfare trusts, ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines
  • Partner with payroll team to resolve outstanding benefit reconciliation items and maintain financial accuracy
  • Maintain and update documentation of billing procedures and track all billing activities using internal tools
  • Assist with benefits audits and provide requested documentation in a timely manner
  • Support LOA administration
  • Serve as contact for benefits questions and resolving eligibility and billing issues as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration, including billing and reconciliation
  • Strong understanding of leave administration processes and related compliance requirements
  • Experience working with unionized workforces and interpreting collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Access preferred
  • Experience with ADP systems is a plus
  • Comfortable working with accounting functions, including financial reporting and reconciliation
  • Solid knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations governing employee benefits and leave
  • Basic knowledge of pretax deductions a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
