Temporary Buyer – Food Manufacturing

Location: North Sacramento, CA

Pay: $24.00 – $28.00/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

A food manufacturing company in North Sacramento is seeking a Temporary Buyer to support procurement and inventory needs during a busy production period. This is a full-time, project-based role ideal for someone with purchasing experience looking for a short-term opportunity in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with purchasing raw materials and packaging for daily production
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and help avoid shortages or excess stock
• Coordinate with warehouse staff on deliveries, counts, and adjustments
• Communicate with vendors to track orders, confirm pricing, and resolve issues
• Support supplier documentation and ensure compliance with food safety standards
• Help maintain and update vendor pricing records

Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in food manufacturing
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and inventory tracking systems
• Familiarity with FDA, HACCP, or BRC standards is a plus
• Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume setting
