Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Chemistry Laboratory Technician for a temp-to-hire position at an oil refinery in Tacoma, WA. Pay Rate:

$28-29/hour

Schedule (Rotating Schedule):

Day Shift:

• Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday-Friday
• Duration: 4 weeks
• Days Off: 5 consecutive days off (Saturday to Wednesday) at the end of the shift cycle

Swing Shift:

• Hours: 3:15 PM to 1:45 AM Thursday-Sunday
• Duration: 4 weeks
• Days Off: Monday to Wednesday off

Split Shift:

• Hours: 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM Monday-Wednesday, and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Saturday-Sunday
• Duration: 4 weeks
• Days Off: Thursday and Friday

Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of intermediate process samples and finished tanks of petroleum products.
• Operate technical equipment like Automated Distillation Apparatus, -Viscometers, Flash Point Analyzers, etc.
• Train in lab-specific modules, completing qualifications in various subdivisions such as Gas Streams and Jet.
• Regularly troubleshoot and ensure QA/QC compliance in accordance with industry standards.
• Participate in all safety training and attend monthly lab safety meetings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Must be open to working rotating shifts including day, swing, and eventually graveyard once qualified in relevant subdivisions.
• Previous experience in refinery preferred.
