Contract Licensed Private Investigator (California)Overview

We are seeking a licensed Private Investigator (PI) in  Sacramento , California, to join our team on a contract (1099) basis. The ideal candidate will be available to conduct investigations on behalf of our clients within a 2-week window from the time a case is assigned. Investigations typically focus on individual cases, such as infidelity or fraud, and require professionalism, discretion, and efficiency.

• Conduct thorough and discreet investigations for clients, including surveillance, evidence collection, and reporting.
• Respond to case assignments within a 2-week window, ensuring timely initiation of investigative work.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of investigative activities, including written reports and supporting documentation.
• Adhere to all California state laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing private investigations.
• Communicate effectively with our team to coordinate case details and provide updates on progress.

• Valid California Private Investigator license.
• Proven experience in conducting private investigations, preferably with a focus on individual cases such as infidelity.
• Ability to be available within a 2-week window to start investigations when cases are assigned.
• Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and client interactions.
• Reliable transportation and necessary investigative equipment (e.g., cameras, recording devices).
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

• Pay Rate: $45–$60 per hour, depending on experience and case complexity.
• Estimated Cases per Month: Approximately 1–14 with opportunities to grow and run a team with us.
• Employment Type: Contract (1099), no benefits provided at this time; potential to change in the near future.

We are a cybersecurity investigations firm that works nationwide. Often, we have clients that require physical or legal help (photos, subpoenas, and more), and we are looking for a long-term relationship with a PI in the  Sacramento area that we can work with on the regular.
