About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Data Center Technician I / HVAC to support the night shift at our Tier III data center campus. This role focuses on monitoring and maintaining critical HVAC and mechanical infrastructure to ensure 24x7x365 uptime. You'll conduct routine checks, respond to alerts, perform maintenance, and assist with troubleshooting and repairs to ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
· Serve as shift operator, monitoring and responding to mechanical and HVAC infrastructure conditions.
· Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on systems including chillers, CRAC units, rooftop HVAC, pumps, and air handlers.
· Log readings, escalate issues, and manage tickets through our CMMS.
· Support major repairs, vendor visits, and emergency response procedures.
· Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards (OSHA, ASHRAE, NEC, etc.).
· Assist with physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and adjusting equipment.
Requirements:
· 2+ years experience in a data center, critical environment, or plant operations; or 4+ years military/trade technical training.
· Strong knowledge of mechanical/HVAC and electrical systems (generators, UPS, switchgear, PDU, ATS, etc.).
· Proficient in troubleshooting and reading technical schematics.
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Ability to lift 40+ lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks.
Schedule: Night shift, full-time, on-site. Rotating coverage for 24/7 operations, including emergencies.
