Job Description
Day-to-Day Overview:
The Sr. Escrow Officer is primarily responsible for completing all tasks and responsibilities associated with intake, processing, closing, and funding new title orders. Including:
- Understanding the escrow process to determine what steps need to be taken to conduct a closing according to the conditions called for in the real estate contract and lender instructions.
- Collaborates with the title department to resolve title issues such as legal descriptions, easements, lot splits, vesting, all tax liens, abstracts of judgments, bankruptcies, boundary disputes, encroachments, list pendents, etc.
- Reviews title commitments for accuracy and completeness to ensure all requirements are met and works with appropriate parties to prepare documents for closing.
- Conducts closing, in office or in conjunction with an outside vendor, with the customer, realtor, lenders, and attorneys.
- Receives and reviews all documents for accuracy and completeness and prepares files for disbursement.
Requirements
- Holding a current Escrow License for a minimum of 5 years, completing continuing education to maintain licensure.
- 5 years of recent title insurance and escrow experience.
- Must be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of title insurance and closing software solutions.
- Must have an active portable book of business in the area (NB, Kyle, Buda, Greene, Austin and surrounding areas)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must demonstrate good problem-solving skills and sound judgment/reasoning skills.
- Attention to detail, strong time management skills, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, volume production-driven environment.
- Work flexible hours as needed, including possible weekends. Availability for periodic travel to work-site locations.
Additional Information:
- Compensation structure: *Base Salary: $60-80k
- Additional compensation tiers begin after the first dollar
- Based on closed transactions, premium/closing fees, etc.
- Average total compensation for mid-level Escrow Officers: $100k+
