Duties
- Performs experienced technical work assisting the Medical Examiner in conducting autopsies and performing forensic procedures to determine the legal and medical causes of death.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two (2) years of experience in a medical laboratory, autopsy room, hospital ward, mortuary, or a closely related field.
- Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to work irregular schedules including planned and unplanned overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Work is performed under adverse conditions and involves exposure to odors, fumes, hazardous chemicals, bodily fluids and tissues, and infectious diseases.
- In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
