As the head coach for women’s lacrosse, you will teach, coach, and train student-athletes to advance their knowledge of lacrosse and improve their performance. You will organize and lead efficient, effective, and well-structured practice sessions and implement instruction to assess the learning potential and achievement capabilities of players. Responsibilities include injury/emergency protocol establishment, creation and implementation of assessments to evaluate the potential of student-athletes, and communication with students, parents, and physicians to determine eligibility or ineligibility. Additionally, you will plan competitions and manage all travel arrangements for games against recognized and respected colleges and universities.
In this role, you will engage in successful community relations to establish a positive perception of SCAD athletics and your specific program among SCAD students and the wider community, including at the city, state, and national levels. You will recruit talented athletes and promote retention strategies that help them both graduate in four years and pursue fulfilling careers. You will also complete paperwork, hold regular office hours, and attend university events as available. Responsibilities include communication with the department, conference, and NAIA officials on various topics, as well as with academic compliance officers regarding eligibility at the university, conference, and national levels. Among other duties, you will perform community service, foster a positive atmosphere within the SCAD athletics department, and maintain an enthusiastic approach toward your job responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has experience in budget management and can cultivate effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment. This candidate demonstrates proven leadership abilities, possesses excellent communication skills, and is dedicated to student development.
