Job Description

I'm working with a well-established, family-owned heavy civil contractor that's been building in the NYC area for over 40 years. They're looking for an experienced Foreman with a strong background in underground utilities to join their team in Brooklyn.

This company has a solid pipeline of municipal and private utility work lined up - storm, sewer, water, electrical and they need a strong field leader who knows how to keep crews moving safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily field operations on active utility projects
• Lead a crew of laborers and operators - coordinate schedules, materials, and equipment
• Ensure safety protocols are followed, especially with trenching, shoring, and confined space
• Read and interpret blueprints and as-builts
• Track production, resolve issues in the field, and maintain clear reporting to PM

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Foreman in heavy civil/utility work
• Solid understanding of NYC infrastructure, including DEP and DOT specs
• Hands-on experience with underground utility installs: water mains, storm drains, sewer lines, electrical conduit
• Strong leadership and communication skills — able to manage crews and interface with inspectors and engineers
• OSHA 30 and NYC DEP certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain)
