Human Resources Assistant
On-Site Long Beach
Pay Range: $21 to $26 per hour DOE
About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and professional Human Resources Assistant to support our HR team in maintaining employee records, coordinating onboarding, and ensuring compliance with internal policies. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about people operations and eager to grow in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Maintain and organize personnel files (active and terminated)
✅ Prepare new hire orientation packets and employment verification letters
✅ Track documentation for competencies, evaluations, and certifications
✅ Manage leave of absence processes and return-to-work records
✅ Conduct annual audits (file and I-9)
✅ Respond to HR-related inquiries and assist walk-ins
✅ Support HR team with administrative tasks and errands
✅ Deliver courteous and respectful customer service to all stakeholders
Qualifications
🎓 High School Diploma or GED preferred
🚗 Valid California Driver’s License
💻 Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
📞 Strong interpersonal and telephone communication skills
🏥 Experience in Human Resources and/or acute care hospital preferred
