Position : Human Resources Generalist - Confidential - Full-Time
The estimated pay for this position is
$33.7313 to $41.4853 per hour. The rates shown includes confidential and new hire premium pays (base= $-$ plus 5% and 6%). This reflects only a portion of the total compensation package for this position. Additional compensation may be available for this role through differentials, incentives, and bonuses. In addition, this position may be eligible for participation and company contributions into the Deferred Compensation Plan.
Definition The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting multiple HR disciplines and projects. This position also coordinates new hire and ongoing training for HR Staff in the following functional areas: talent acquisition, employee relations, employment, benefits & compensation, and position control.
Essential Functions - Provides administrative and technical support to functional HR leaders including labor/employee relations, talent acquisition and management, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, and organizational development;
- Manages special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules, conducting research; developing and organizing information; preparing and disseminating roll outs, etc.
- Identifies internal HR training needs and training gaps in close cooperation with functional HR leaders; prepares and maintains training manuals and training courses for internal HR users
- Creates custom reports and runs standard reports as designated;
- Prepares useful HR metrics by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends;
- Takes an active role in understanding the business and employee issues organizational wide;
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments;
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation;
- Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the Kern County Hospital Authority;
- Understands safety policies and actively promote safe practices on the job;
- Consistently provide ideas, opinions, or information in an articulate, professional way.
- Administers all policies according to guidelines;
Other Functions - Performs other job-related duties as assigned;
- Assists department team members as needed.
Employment Standards Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration or relevant area of study, and three (3) years of experience working in human resources.
OR seven (7) years of experience in human resources;
Experience working in healthcare, managed care, hospitals, or medical groups preferred;
Knowledge Of - Human Resource Information Systems (e.g. Ultimate Software)
- Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- HR processes and practices
- Principles of learning
Ability To - Effectively research and understand internal and external HR practices and policies.
- Communicate effectively both written and verbal.
- Effectively organize and prioritize workload.
- Work in team with a results-driven approach.
