Job Description

Position: Instructional Designer & Training Specialist

Location: must be able to work onsite in both Johnston, Rhode Island and Norwood, Massachusetts

Engagement: 1-year W2 Contract Employee engagement (can extend or convert to become Direct FTE)

Compensation: $62.50/hour W2

Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced learning designer and facilitator to join our effort to train on Project Management best practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, facilitating, refining and maintaining project, change and process management curriculum for global audiences in various formats (in-person, virtual and hybrid). This role will be embedded within our team and will play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our own team and the broader organization, ensuring successful project, process and change management execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum and Course Design: Develop and maintain comprehensive training programs on project management, change management, and business process improvement, tailored to internal audiences, practices and organizational needs.
  • Refinement and Maintenance: Continuously evaluate and update training materials based on feedback and best practices to ensure they meet organizational standards.
  • Learning Needs Assessments: Conduct assessments to identify skill gaps and align training programs with organizational goals.
  • Facilitation: Conduct engaging training sessions, both in-person and virtually, to ensure effective learning and skill development.
  • Collaboration: Work with project teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to ensure training content is relevant and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Course Evaluation and Analysis: Develop assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, feedback, and metrics.
  • Reporting: Implement regular reporting to track progress against goals and promote organizational awareness and adoption.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • 5-7 years designing and developing engaging instructional materials and training programs using established instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Demonstrated experience creating high-quality training content in various formats, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (VILT), train-the-trainers, job aids, and other educational resources for global audiences.
  • Experience in gamification to design and implement gamified learning experiences to increase engagement and motivation.
  • History of designing assessments, evaluations, and feedback mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of training programs and learner performance.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Rise, Camtasia) and multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to develop interactive training content, videos, animations, and graphics.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) to ensure instructional materials support diverse learners.
  • Proficiency in using training software and tools, as well as virtual training platforms.
  • Experience with using and managing LMS platforms for course creation, enrollment, tracking, and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, instructional technology, or a subject-matter area paired with a teaching credential is a plus.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), project management tools, and change management frameworks is a plus.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $60 - $62.50 / hr. w2

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
