Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and optimize optical systems for various applications.
Conduct optical and mechanical tolerance analysis, including tolerance stack-up, simulations, and sensitivity analysis, to ensure system performance and reliability.
Integrate and test microscopy imaging systems using OTS components.
Perform absorption and fluorescent measurements using photometric methods.
Utilize optical and mechanical software tools for system design and analysis.
Evaluate and troubleshoot optical systems to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
Work with third-party design houses and machine shops to design, fabricate, and test components and systems.
Document design processes, test results, and technical reports.

Qualifications:

MS or PhD in physics, optical engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in optical system design and analysis.
Proficiency in optical and mechanical tolerance analysis methodologies, including tolerance stack-up, simulations, and sensitivity analysis.
Apply knowledge and practice experience of imaging optics design, interference, and distortion to improve system performance.
Experience in optical system evaluation and troubleshooting.
Knowledge and experience of image processing techniques and tools such as Python, Matlab
Familiarity with optical design software (e.g., Zemax) and mechanical design software (e.g., CAD tools).
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
