Risk Adjustment Medical Record Retrieval Specialist (Temp – Potential to Go Permanent)

Location: Primarily Remote (NYC-based candidates preferred; occasional fieldwork in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, or the Bronx may be required)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, ~35 hours/week

Pay Rate: $23–$25/hour (Travel reimbursed for field visits)

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Risk Adjustment Medical Record Retrieval Specialist to support chart retrieval and review efforts for HEDIS and Risk Validation (RV) audits. This is a temporary position with the potential to convert to a permanent role for the right candidate. While the position is primarily remote, occasional local travel to provider offices in the NYC boroughs may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Retrieve and audit medical records to support HEDIS and RV initiatives
• Track and complete approximately 200 charts from the 2018 service year
• Conduct outreach to providers, clinics, and physicians to obtain medical records
• Upload, scan, and securely manage charts for on-site visits when necessary
• Maintain accurate tracking logs and documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards
• Use Microsoft Teams and Excel to manage workflow and communication

Qualifications:

• Required: Previous HEDIS and/or medical chart retrieval experience
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Proven reliability and professionalism in remote and field-based roles
• Strong communication skills, especially in provider outreach
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Proficient in Microsoft Teams and Excel
• Must be based in the NYC area (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, or Bronx)
• Willingness and ability to travel locally to provider offices as needed (mileage and travel expenses reimbursed)

Position Details:

• Type: Temporary (with potential for permanent hire)
• Hours: Approximately 35 hours/week (flexible schedule, Monday–Friday)
• Pay Rate: $23–$25/hour
• Travel: Reimbursed when field visits are required
• Primary Worksite: Remote, with occasional field visits across NYC boroughs
