The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and scheduling of orders for timely delivery to vessels to ensure efficient operations. The role requires excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills to respond to real-time challenges and maintain workflow continuity but most importantly requires adaptation to a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
Please note, this is a position Tuesday-Saturday full time.
Delegating vendors to orders (populate) including identifying stock items, in accordance to the deliver information of the vessel
Contacting agents on a daily basis to update operation for order processing
Contacting drivers and agents for loading and dispatch of the trucks (Saturdays only)
Place orders with relevant vendors for local pick ups
Ensure the order is completed for the delivery tickets and invoices to be printed
Coordinate with Purchasing to follow up with respective vendors to ensure order is ready for pick up.
Coordinate with the warehouse manager to start prepping the order with the items in stock.
Coordinate with the warehouse upon completion of the order to be delivered to the vessel.
Prepare the completed orders paperwork including delivery ticket and invoice.
Inform the client about any missing items, shortages, wrongly supplied items, claims, exchanges, etc.
Qualifications
Prior dispatch experience is REQUIRED
Relevant maritime background is preferred.
