Dorian Webb is an award-winning, Oakland -based, woman-owned, small, but rapidly growing design company that has recently repositioned to sell online, direct to consumer. We specialize in the production of semiprecious jewelry and precious jewelry that celebrates women, shares stories and fosters connection.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Production Manager at Dorian Webb in Oakland, CA. Some, but not all, of the work can be done remotely. The Production Manager is responsible for production and inventory management and planning, maintaining library of CAD files, cultivating and managing relationships with potential and existing vendors, and overseeing quality control. Both creative problem solving and practical management skills are essential for this role.

This job requires a strong desire to play an active and important role at a growing company. Ideal candidate is highly organized, used to leadership positions and works well independently as well as with a team. If you are great at organizing information (Excel spreadsheets, Dropbox folders, QuickBooks), enjoy working with people, and are a creative and resourceful thinker, this job is for you. We are looking for someone with great verbal skills, both written and spoken, who can grow with us, and whom our vendors and will enjoy working with. A background in design is a plus. Having your own transportation is essential.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with manufacturers to ensure timely production of needed components
  • Planning production to meet required deadlines
  • Tracking orders in production and updating the CEO and Operations Manager as needed
  • Maintaining and managing vendor relationships
  • Ordering materials, creating purchase orders, communicating with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Sourcing new manufacturers as needed
  • Pricing new styles and adding to database
  • Maintaining high quality of orders fulfilled

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and planning skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Experience in the jewelry or fashion industry is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree
