Job Title: Permit/Zoning Agent

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permit/Zoning Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Right of Way/Real Estate industry, with at least 2 years working specifically as a Permit/Zoning Agent. This role requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting objectives and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate and negotiate Owner's requirements with local, state, and federal agencies to acquire permits and approvals for construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities.
• Secure agreements including temporary workspace, licenses, and permits.
• Apply Owner’s established policies, procedures, and processes to all work activities.
• Represent the company in dealings with agencies such as:
• Railroads
• Road and drain commissions
• Federal Aviation Administration
• Michigan Aeronautics Commission
• Michigan Department of Natural Resources
• Federal Forest Service
• National Park Service
• Department of Defense
• Process requests for certificates of insurance and bond postings.
• Prepare and send correspondence and overnight documents.

Skills:

• Proven experience with utility permitting.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Proficient in interpreting regulatory policies and procedures affecting real estate transactions.
• Skilled in reading real estate documents, legal descriptions, and construction-related drawings.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Right of Way/Real Estate industry.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Permit/Zoning Agent.
