Job Description

A health services organization in Northern Massachusetts is currently seeking a Social Worker (LCSW) to join their growing team.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8:30am to 5pm

Responsibilities:

• Assess emotional factors related to terminal illness, as well as environmental resources and obstacles to maintain safety
• Provide emotional support, short-term crisis intervention, and individual and/or family counseling
• Maintain contact with appropriate community agencies and services in order to promote interagency cooperation and to facilitate related referrals
• Evaluate patient/family response to psychosocial interventions
• Assess special needs related to cultural diversity, including communication, space, role of family members, and special traditions
• Perform comprehensive initial psychosocial assessments
• Assess the patient/family psychosocial status, potential for risk of suicide, and/or abuse or neglect
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Social Work
• Active Massachusetts Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and/or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
• Solid understanding of Hospice philosophy related to families in crisis and end-of-life issues
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills:

• 1+ year of related Social Work experience
• Hospice background
