Job Description

INTRODUCTION

Barksdale, founded in 1949, is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered control products. As a subsidiary of Crane Co., a $2B industrial conglomerate, Barksdale has a leading brand position in instrumentation, with focus on General Industrial, Oil & Gas and Transportation end markets. With proprietary technologies, Barksdale’s regulators, pressure switches and electronic instrumentation products have carved a niche for themselves in demanding applications.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Evaluate a new end market and/or technology through market research and help develop organic growth strategy to penetrate these markets.
  • Support research and analysis required to support the annual strategic planning process.
  • Conduct data analysis to support 80-20, pricing and other sustaining product management functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

These responsibilities including projects and other tasks assigned are subject for modifications:

  • Identify End Markets linked to long term mega trends with high growth and differentiation potential, aligned to Barksdale vision.
  • Segment the market and research products, technologies, market size, growth rate, profitability for the selected end market and the segments.
  • Conduct market research, both primary and secondary, to assess competitive landscape and positioning.
  • Leverage market assessments frameworks and tools to support strategy development.
  • Utilize data analysis and dashboarding tools such as Excel and PowerBI to develop actionable insights on 80-20 and product rationalization.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for existing products.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergrad: Must have a 4 year technical undergrad degree, preferably Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Mechanical Engineering
  • GPA: 3.5+
  • MBA – Preferred: Specialization in Finance or Strategy, Acceptable: Marketing
  • Work experience: Must have at least 2 years’ experience working in chemical / pharmaceutical / Energy / manufacturing or similar industry before starting MBA.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience:

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools including but not limited to advanced excel, PowerBI, SQL,
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Power Point and Excel
  • Highly organized, self-starter and detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build key relationships.
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good analytical skills

Salary range: $23 to $27 hourly. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs”
