WATERS PRODUCTION MANAGER

Reports to: Plant Manager

Position Location: Pre-Commercial Plant located in Athens, Ga.

Job Summary:

The Waters Production Manager will oversee both the water treatment and wastewater departments, coordinating all activities and operations. The role will be hands-on to ensure all processes run smoothly, efficiently, and within budget. Leveraging a strong background in industrial water treatment, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and safety, the Waters Production Manager will drive to meet plant and department objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all aspects of waters operation or process comply with applicable regulations.
• Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of paperwork, sampling and testing of weekly wastewater samples for monthly compliance reporting to local authorities.
• Supervises and evaluates assigned staff, handles all employee concerns, directing work assignments, counseling and disciplining employees when necessary, and completing employee performance appraisals.
• Develop all department standard operating procedures (SOPs), energy control procedures (ECPs) and training matrixes.
• Works with plant maintenance to develop and maintain a preventative maintenance (PM) program for all applicable equipment.
• Implementation of process changes to improve safety, cost, and reliability
• Develop an improvement plan of the water treatment system in collaboration with the plant manager and HSE manager
• Prepare explanations and clarify information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data
• Effectively communicate technical and compliance issues to plant leadership
• Readily able to support a 24/7 facility – ability to work nights / weekends as necessary

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering discipline, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or related discipline required with at least 2 years of industrial water treatment experience

OR

• Currently holds or can obtain Class 2 Biological Wastewater Treatment System Operator license for Georgia within 6 months of hiring.
• Willing to achieve Class 1 Biological Wastewater Treatment System Operator
• A minimum of 1 years’ management experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with focus in Word, Excel, Teams and One Note
• Knowledge of common testing methods and instrumentation used in industrial waste treatment programs
• Experience developing and managing departmental KPIs
