We are seeking a  Working Construction Superintendent with a strong background in General Project Management and ideally a  minimum of 3 years of experience in sealants and coatings . This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional who is equally comfortable on the job site and in managing people, schedules, and budgets.

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily execution and oversight of on-site operations for our commercial construction projects. You'll lead production efforts, coordinate field personnel, and maintain clear communication to ensure each project is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications:

  • Do you have a minimum of 3+ years experience managing commercial construction projects and possess the ability to work well both independently and within a group?
  • 5+ years in the construction industry, preferably commercial construction.
  • Must have broad working knowledge, skills, and abilities of materials, methods, and tools related to construction; specifically commercial/industrial wood, steel, and concrete construction
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft operating systems and Office Software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Excellent math, reading, writing, and communication skills with diverse audiences
  • Highly organized and efficient time management
  • Understand cost analysis
  • Have experience with Timberline AND Procore Software

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • As an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for the management of all phases of commercial construction projects, from pre-construction, tender, construction, and commissioning phases
  • You will have a solid understanding of project planning, estimating, contract administration, project cost control and scheduling techniques
  • You will have the construction experience and communication skills to resolve design and construction issues and to maintain good relations with our clients
  • Helping to develop project requirements, cost estimates, project plan and budget
  • Assisting in negotiation and awarding of subcontracts
  • Selecting key personnel and subcontractors for the project
  • Monitoring, controlling, and reporting on progress, costs, and budget throughout the project
  • Maintaining good working relationships and communication between owners, contractors, subcontractors, and project staff
  • Helping resolve disputes, negotiate change orders, and communicate decisions to owners, subcontractors, and management personnel
  • Providing work direction and coaching to assigned field and project staff
  • Communicating and enforcing company safety standards and operating practices
  • To be successful in this role you will need to manage industrial and commercial construction jobs from concept to turn-key
  • Coordinate schedules and services, manage budgets, and ensure all work is performed skillfully, efficiently and within the timeline and estimate
  • Assist with pre-construction activities as needed: construction planning and design; interpretation of design and drawings; application of construction methods; bid packages
  • Interpret designs and drawings; prepares takeoffs; researches and recommends resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, and errors
  • Maintain submittal logs and timely receipt and review of submittals and shop drawings
  • Recognize change conditions with respect to the contract and notifies appropriate parties
  • Coordinate inspections and testing of work
  • Ensure time entry coding is completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on; assigns cost codes to all purchases, timecards, contracts, equipment time and any other item involving cost
  • Assist leads with daily field reports
  • Create correspondence to owners, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, etc
  • Assist with construct-ability reviews and value engineering functions
  • Assist in the definition of contract bid packages and coordinate scopes of work
  • Assist in project close-out activities

***Along with the main duties you will also be expected to carry out any other duties reasonably asked of you.

  • The schedule is Monday - Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm (Hours may vary as they are subject to change as needed, but this is the standard day-to-day schedule)
