Job Description

 

Position Summary

The Service Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional delivery of materials, tools, and equipment to job sites, vendors, and company facilities. Operating a company-owned vehicle, this role supports the field and warehouse teams by ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time. The driver may also assist in warehouse operations and is expected to fill in for the Warehouse Manager when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a company truck to load, transport, and deliver materials, tools, and equipment between warehouses, vendors, and job sites.
  • Verify delivery contents, obtain required documentation, and report any discrepancies or issues.
  • Interact professionally with vendors to coordinate material pickups, returns, and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
  • Assist warehouse staff with receiving shipments, staging materials, organizing inventory, and general upkeep of the warehouse.
  • Serve as backup for the Warehouse Manager during absences, including overseeing deliveries, managing inventory, and coordinating logistics.
  • Perform routine checks on delivery vehicles and ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, technicians, and administrative staff regarding delivery status and material needs.
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and traffic laws.
  • Support emergency deliveries or special project needs, including after-hours or weekend requests as needed.



     

Working Conditions

  • Daily travel throughout the service region in company vehicle.
  • Frequent loading/unloading in various weather conditions.
  • Primarily warehouse and job site environments with occasional office coordination.
  • May be required to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

     

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in delivery, warehouse operations, or construction/mechanical supply chain preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with a professional and reliable demeanor.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, plumbing, or HVAC materials is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
