Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead and manage the estimating function for heavy civil and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, team leadership, and industry compliance—along with the drive to deliver successful bids that fuel project execution.

🔍 What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of estimators and assistant estimators.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and determine production rates.
• Coordinate bid reviews, vendor pricing, and subcontractor outreach.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Establish project schedules and resource requirements.
• Ensure all bids are accurate, competitive, and submitted on time.
• Collaborate closely with project teams, field personnel, and executive leadership.
• Conduct site visits and assess job conditions where necessary.
• Maintain documentation including contracts, bids, and vendor correspondence.
• Uphold safety and compliance standards throughout the estimating process.

🧠 What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–8 years of experience in estimating, cost control, or construction management.
• Proficient in HCSS Heavy Bid and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of heavy civil construction and industry procedures.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional efforts and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

⚙️ Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Primarily office-based with occasional project site visits.
• Must be able to walk, stand, and wear required PPE on active construction sites.
• Typical physical demands of office and occasional field work (lifting up to 15 lbs, etc.).
