Human Resources Generalist Position Summary:
Our client in Durham is looking for a
Human Resources Generalist to support and enhance HR operations across the organization. This role will focus on employee relations, talent management, and process improvements while ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of collaborating with employees at all levels to foster a positive and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and workplace policies.
- Lead onboarding efforts to create a seamless transition for new hires.
- Manage recruitment activities, including sourcing candidates, coordinating interviews, and handling offer negotiations.
- Administer employee benefits, responding to inquiries and facilitating enrollment processes.
- Conduct audits to ensure accuracy in HR records, compliance with regulations, and process improvements.
- Support workplace investigations and assist in resolving employee concerns with fairness and discretion.
- Develop strategies to enhance employee engagement, recognition programs, and workplace satisfaction.
- Ensure proper handling of payroll, leave requests, and HRIS updates in collaboration with internal departments.
- Stay informed on labor laws and best HR practices, providing leadership with recommendations for compliance and efficiency.
- Help refine HR policies and procedures that align with business needs and industry standards.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HR roles with a focus on employee relations and organizational development.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, compliance regulations, and HR best practices.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms, preferably ADP, Workday, or similar systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to advise and collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proven ability to implement HR strategies that positively impact company culture and employee retention.
