Telesolv Consulting has an internal full-time opportunity as a Director of Projects at their corporate office in Washington, D.C. This role will be a hybrid role in the D.C. Metropolitan area, requiring occasional onsite visits for meetings .

Job description:

The Director of Projects will play a pivotal role in our business consulting firm by managing contracts and overseeing a cross-functional team to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This position involves leading strategic initiatives, coordinating resources, and fostering collaboration among various departments to drive project objectives. Through effective leadership and communication, the Director of Projects will streamline processes, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the firm. All qualified candidates will have prior Federal Government Contract Project Managment experience, an Active PMP certification and the ability to maintain a Top-Secret clearance .

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead key program operational processes, ensuring contractual obligations, reviews, approvals, and appropriate dissemination (i.e., key personnel, travel requests, onboarding processes, timesheet reporting, invoicing, etc.) are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assign PM activities such as preparing, editing, updating, and maintaining program and project management plan, schedules, and contractual deliverables (e.g., monthly status reporting) as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain contract tracking mechanisms, to include executed contract storage, modifications, period of performance tracking, etc.
  • Actively support and engage in key client leadership meetings and briefings.
  • Serve as Program Manager point of contact to the Contracting Officer(s) and alternate point of contact to assigned Project Managers for Contracting Officer’s Representative(s) (COR).
  • Provide management guidance as assigned for PMs to achieve company and contract goals and objectives.
  • Provide management oversight of direct reports.
  • Monitor and anticipate program and contract staffing needs, engagement in team member recruiting, leading interviews, and guiding Project Managers in team member selection accordingly.
  • Maintain collaborative working relations with the Corporate Office to support recruitment, business development, finance, and security operations and initiatives.
  • Routinely Perform Contract, Invoice, Qual, CPARs response, etc. reviews and approvals.
  • Obtain monthly BD results from PMs (intel, marketing efforts, etc.).
  • Provide direction and guidance to Program and Project Managers.
  • Assign individuals/positions to support Corp Office activities to include BD, CMMI, ISO, EPR activities.
  • Lead Weekly Meetings with Project Teams (with selected Corporate Office staff).
  • Present project statuses in Weekly Meetings with company President.
  • Institute strategies to promote/support project compliance with company objectives such as utilization, timekeeping and expense reporting, marketing, etc.
  • Perform other duties and/or tasks as assigned on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience with managing Federal contracts.
  • Active PMP® certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of on-site, hybrid, and remote personnel supporting professional services contracts of $50M+.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, strategic planning written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a Top-Secret clearance and directly support contracts.
  • Ability to evaluate and assess contractual issues, interpret terms, and communicate findings verbally and in writing to managers and staff.
  • Ability to maintain clear communications and establish rapport with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to conduct reviews and analysis of project performance data to determine if results meet company objectives and expectations.
  • Ability to prepare issue papers, executive briefings, talking points and presentations on complex policy and technical.
  • Knowledge of the federal procurement process, from requirements planning/forecasting to contract closeout.
  • Ability to leverage leading technologies to increase productivity of project teams.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Residence within 50 miles of TeleSolv’s Corporate Office is highly desired.
  • Federal accounting experience and knowledge of time and expense activities and invoicing is strongly desired.
