Legal Assistant (In-Office, 2 Days/Week) Our busy legal firm is seeking a reliable and organized Legal Assistant to join our team two days per week in our office. In this part-time role, you’ll support our attorneys and paralegals by preparing legal documents, managing office correspondence, and assisting with client communications. We’re looking for someone with experience in a law firm environment who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is interested in contributing to the bankruptcy legal industry. • Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly
• Work with attorneys and paralegals to create various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when requested
• Take care of administrative tasks and office correspondence by answering phone calls and emails, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and informing the team of upcoming deadlines
• Preparing and filing legal documents through PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) and CM/ECF electronic filing systems.

Qualifications:

• Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products
• Associate’s degree, or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is necessary
• Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills
• Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs
• Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment

About Company: Organization: Office of Ray Hendren, Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee Position/Entity Description: The Office of the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee, Waco Division, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas. Overview: Responsible for the administration and oversight of all Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases filed in the Waco Division of the Western District of Texas, including case management, plan review, payment disbursement, and compliance monitoring under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
