Job Description

An established family law firm in Dallas is looking for a Legal Receptionist/Front Desk Assistant. This role is the first person clients, vendors, and employees interact with when they visit or call our office.

This role is responsible for the following:

  • Serve as gatekeeper to the office, ensuring that clients and vendors are shown to the appropriate conference rooms, or are otherwise accompanied by a firm employee.
  • Provide coffee, soda, water, etc. to guests upon arrival.
  • Notify appropriate attorneys or legal staff of guest arrival.
  • Answer phones and follow firm systems to direct calls to the appropriate place.
  • Support Intake Specialists by taking initial information from Potential New Clients before passing on.
  • Support Office Assistant and Office Manager by working to keep lobby and conference rooms tidy and well-stocked.
  • Receive and sign out mail, packages, deliveries from clients, other law firms, etc.
  • Update attorney dockets based on information from our intake specialists.
  • Other administrative projects, as assigned by the Office Manager or firm leadership.

  • Discretion: everything client-related that comes into our office is to be treated as confidential.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring calls make it to the correct attorney or staff member, ensuring dockets are updated correctly, getting people to the correct conference rooms or offices.
  • Experience as a secretary, front desk assistant/receptionist, or administrative assistant preferred.
  • Experience in a law firm preferred.
  • Microsoft Office experience required.
  • Experience with VoIP phone systems preferred.

This role is on-site Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM in our office off Oak Lawn.
