• Contract Duration: 6-8 weeks | contract-to-hire
• Worksite Location: Robbinsdale, MN (primary) & Maple Grove, MN (as needed / a few times per month)
• Compensation: $25.00-31.00 per hour
• Schedule: 40 hours per week, Days/Evenings | Weekends as needed

What you’ll do as the Patient Financial Advocate:

• Conduct thorough financial screenings of patients and provide clear education on insurance benefits, coverage levels, and billing processes
• Secure insurance authorizations, payment arrangements, and collect co-payments or coinsurance prior to discharge or outpatient services
• Identify potential payment sources, including financial assistance programs and government aid, and guide patients through application processes
• Provide accurate cost estimates and ensure accounts are cleared for billing in a timely manner
• Serve as a trusted resource for patients and families, using tact and empathy to navigate financial concerns

What you’ll bring to the Patient Financial Advocate role:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• 1–2 years of experience in patient financial advocacy, registration, or accounting
• Strong background in customer service with experience supporting patients in financial processes
• Proficiency with Epic systems and familiarity with insurance carrier communications for service authorizations
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle stressful situations professionally
• Advanced knowledge of insurance and government assistance programs
• Bilingual skills in Spanish or Hmong preferred
• Experience in communicating with insurance carriers to obtain authorization for services preferred
