Director of Materials (135 – 185K)

We are partnering with a growing aerospace metals manufacturer to hire a Director of Materials to lead procurement, inventory, and production planning functions.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving sourcing strategies, optimizing material flow, and partnering closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead purchasing, inventory, and materials management to support production schedules and cost targets.
• Develop strategic sourcing and supplier relationship programs for metals and consumables.
• Oversee inventory control, cycle counting, and traceability compliance.
• Manage the SIOP process to align sales forecasts with production and material requirements.
• Negotiate supplier contracts and pricing to achieve cost savings and secure supply continuity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and corporate procurement to improve performance.
• Lead and develop a small team of buyers and planners.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
• Materials or procurement experience of aerospace castings or metals manufacturing.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing purchasing or materials teams.
• Strong negotiation, ERP, and analytical skills.
• Certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP preferred.
