Job Description

TSS is partnering with a prestigious, high-profile law firm to hire a full-time, onsite Human Resources & Operations Manager for a permanent position in the financial district in NYC, NY.

This key leadership role will supervise clerical staff, manage office logistics, support firm-wide HR processes, and partner with senior leadership to maintain a productive, compliant, and positive work environment. Additionally, this client requires that you have large team oversight with a fully in-house staff, and they are specifically seeking candidates with direct corporate experience and will not be considering individuals whose backgrounds are primarily in HR consulting or the nonprofit sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources & Staff Management

  • Oversee the administrative team of approximately 25 staff in partnership with their assigned manager.
  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of clerical and non-legal staff.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and support staff integration into the firm’s culture.
  • Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, and adherence to schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant personnel records.
  • Support policy enforcement, handle disciplinary documentation, and assist with terminations.
  • Stay current on employment laws and ensure organizational compliance.

Office & Operations Oversight

  • Supervise daily operations to ensure staff productivity and adherence to internal policies.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs to monitor workspace organization, professionalism, and policy compliance.
  • Ensure the functionality and cleanliness of the office and shared spaces.
  • Identify and address workflow inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.

Facilities & Vendor Management

  • Oversee inventory and coordinate the timely ordering of supplies and printed materials.
  • Schedule and manage the maintenance of office equipment and liaise with external vendors.
  • Work with building management and cleaning crews to maintain a professional environment.

Culture & Engagement

  • Foster a positive, team-oriented office culture.
  • Plan morale-boosting initiatives and internal engagement activities.
  • Identify and report workplace behavior issues to leadership as needed.

Reporting & Executive Support

  • Provide regular operational updates to firm leadership.
  • Assist with policy rollouts and support special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work the schedule of M-F 9am-6pm.
  • 8+ years of experience in human resources or office management within a law firm or corporate setting is required. Specifically seeking candidates with direct corporate experience, and will not be considering individuals whose backgrounds are primarily in HR consulting or the nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership over a team of at least 25 staff members is required .
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and administrative procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS or time-tracking tools is a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The salary range is $110,000 - $125,000 DOE. Health benefits include: Medical, Vision, and Dental, PTO, paid sick leave, paid holidays, 401k with match, commuter benefits, and more!
