Job Description
Job responsibilities:
- Ensure all loads are loaded correctly and secured
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of quality and food safety
- Perform physical counting using AX/WM counting practice
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure FIFO, daily expiration dates, warehouse storage availability, and daily availability.
- Work with different departments to educate and improve product use and knowledge
- Organize cleaning and storage of components and dry goods to maximize use and FIFO.
- Responsible for the length of time it takes you in the count
- Ensure documentation (Load sheets, pre-load check lists and Trailer inspection) is completed and correctly.
- Minimize wasted time in the process
- Effectively maintain a working relationship with other departments within Taylor Farms
- Assist in product tracking and recall
- Enforce cleanliness and organization in all areas of the warehouse
- Apply Taylor Farms operating procedures and OSHA requirements to all forklifts
- Ensure all out-going routes dispatch on time and complete
- Control staff hours and minimize overtime
- Follow all GMP and PPE procedures required by Taylor Farms
- Apply any safety rules and regulations required by Taylor Farms
- Follow any additional roles or responsibilities assigned by the Performance Supervisor(s)
Job Requirements:
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand or walk for periods > 8 hours
- Able to work in a refrigerated environment for periods > 8 hours
- Able to follow oral and/or written instructions
- Able to enter, transcribe, record, store and maintain information in written or electronic form
- Math skills needed for business calculations
- Understanding the unit of measurement
- Able to work a flexible schedule according to operational needs
Work experience requirements:
- Math skills required
- Have problem-solving and analytical skills
- Self-improvement and high degree of following and completing any assigned task
- Excellent communication skills and extremely focused on working effectively with team members
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the inventory process
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse processes
- Great attention to the organization
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook required
- Ability to work as part of the team and independently
- Strong ability to multitask and be efficient at managing time
- Knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting and reception processes
- Must be able to perform all tasks as described in the Inventory Control Work Function
- Courtesy and respect for all co-workers and clients must be always exercised
Additional work experience (preferred):
- Understanding and experience working with the Microsoft AX system
- Understanding the WM Warehouse Management System
- Trained in warehouse operations, preferred
- Experience in using ERP or MRP systems
- Knowledge of the company's products and manufacturing processes
