Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and program control systems including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo motors, motor control systems, and field devices.
• Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and preventive/predictive maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Conduct electrical repairs such as motor wiring, starter fuses, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Provide technical guidance to management on controls, electrical design, construction, and maintenance.
• Investigate control system issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Develop and maintain process control and electrical engineering documentation, standards, and specifications.
• Lead the implementation of process control and electrical engineering projects.
• Oversee contractors and vendors related to controls and electrical systems.
• Communicate project status, timelines, and budgets with stakeholders.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for process controls and electrical engineering.
• Review and approve technical drawings and specifications.
• Identify and implement opportunities to reduce facility operating costs through process improvements.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in controls and automation.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, safety regulations, and company standards.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
• 5–8 years of experience in multi-disciplinary technical roles within the food industry
• Strong knowledge of HMI and ControlLogix programming.
• Proficient in reading one-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Hands-on experience with motor and VFD control, instrumentation, and field devices
